What will we achieve today?

Session Objective: Drafts short news announcements using passive voice structures to describe public events and local occurrences.

Community Connection: We will connect this language structure to describe our own life experiences, family stories, and community realities in Popayán and the Cauca region.

Key Concepts

• News style: Objective tone, passive voice for reports (e.g., 'A new park was built', 'The roads were closed').

Practical Challenge: Breaking News Draft

In pairs, draft a 5-sentence news report about a school event (e.g., soccer tournament, debate), incorporating at least 3 passive voice sentences.
